Course 8
DATABASE AND SCIENTIFIC INDICATORS FOR MATERIALS ENGINEERS
DOUGLAS HENRIQUE MILANEZ
COURSE
This course aims in a more in-depth knowledge about the availability of scientific information in databases to future material engineers, learning to explore them through searching, retrieval of information and treatment of these data through quantitative techniques of information analysis. In the current context of the knowledge society, dealing with large volumes of scientific information can assist in the selection of materials, processes and applications, development of research for the purpose of Bibliographic Review and support decision making in engineering projects. The course will mainly involve the Web of Science database and students will receive free VOSviewer software training and various features that enable the processing of scientific information for decision making.
